PowerWash Simulator 2 is bringing its squeaky-clean sequel to Xbox Game Pass tomorrow, October 23rd, which means a bunch of early reviews for the title are now starting to hit the web.
So, to give you a better idea of how this one is landing with folks so far, we’re going to roundup some early reviews for the game – these should be helpful in determining whether PowerWash Sim 2 will be worth the Xbox Game Pass download!
Without further ado, here’s what the critics think:
“Powerwash Simulator 2 is an easy sell to those who have never tried the original, and an even easier sell to those who loved it. Relaxing and hypnotic, you’ll lose hours to this game every time you pick up the controller, and you’ll come back time after time for more.”
“PowerWash Simulator 2 is a refinement of a modern comfort classic. Every addition, from the home base to the abseiling harness, feels thoughtfully designed to deepen the relaxation loop rather than distract. It’s bigger and cleaner, but still surprisingly heartfelt. If the first game helped us survive the chaos of 2022, this one feels perfectly timed to help us slow down again in 2025.”

“Line up ladies and gentlemen, and see the rare example of a sequel to a special game that knew just what to tweak, and what to leave well enough alone. The meditative motions of cleaning, the silly sense of humor, and the sense of satisfaction. There’s enough here to justify slapping a big old 2 on the end of the title, but the key mechanic and feeling of the first game lives on.”
“PowerWash Simulator 2 provides more of what we love with plenty of levels, new equipment, and a lot more soap to go around. While playing on handheld can take some getting used to, performance remains steady, and you can sud and spray to your hearts content no matter where you are. If you like relaxing games, this is for you.”
“PowerWash Simulator 2 is a very specific kind of game that will appeal to a very specific kind of audience. If you’re the kind of person who spends your evenings watching videos of things being cleaned or organized, you’ll likely enjoy an interactive version of that. However, if you prefer your action heavy or your systems robust, you might find yourself bored or restless. Though I fall more into that latter category, I felt an undeniable satisfaction each time I completed a job, which serves as a highlight to the overall package.”
“Still, the game knows what it does best, and that’s providing a long list of varied and interesting things to clean. Whether it’s an art deco house or a car that looks like a dog, there’s a vast amount to do. Once you’ve finished a level in career mode, you can play it whenever you want in free play, too. Again, PowerWash Simulator 2 isn’t reinventing the wheel; it’s an overhaul of the original that improves just about every aspect. It won’t win over any sceptics, but if you loved the serene, zen-like satisfaction of hosing down houses, this is a no-brainer.”
